We have been with BT for a few years and recently moved to TalkTalk.
TalkTalk have now supplied with their youview box,and it is working fine.
BT had given us Humax Youview box which has few important programmes recorded. We would like to transfer those programmes into a flash disc or PC-but don't know how to go about it.
can anybody help us?

As far as I'm aware you can't copy recordings of a Youview box. You could just use the Humax box so the recordings wouldn't be an issue. If you don't need to access the TalkTalk specific services then you don't need to use their box.0

This is not possible. The recordings are HDCP protected. Scart recording is possible for some SD content, but even thats not guaranteed.0

Last time I had a Humax box, anything could be recorded via Scart to a DVD recorder.0

Obviously it must be a DVD recorder not just player - these are becoming rare devices nowadays. My current one was bought used off Ebay for this reason.
The DVD should have 2 SCART sockets, record and TV. Plug Humax into DVD recorder via SCART and TV into recorder. Using DVD remote toggle through the inputs till you see what the Humax is showing. Most DVD recorders have an instant timer record function like a microwave to adjust recording length, I used to use this to start the instant recording of the programme playing on the Humax. The DVD should also have a quality adjustment option to squeeze longer programmes onto one DVD.0 -
My Humax Freeview recorder can transfer and decrypt SD recordings if they've been moved onto a connected USB hard drive.
There might be an option for you box.
If it's possible, someone at the Hummy forums will have figured it out. See if your box is listed.

YouView, believe it or not, isn't a Freeview box and so nor does it conform to previous Humax Freeview specs either, so thats not possible unfortunately.0 -
Take my advice and keep the BT box. It will work with TalkTalk. The TT over time is painfully slow. I have had TT TV since launch, and I have now bought a Humax BT box. Should work better than the Huawei boxes.0

I support the opinion that the BT Humax Youview box will work with TalkTalk. I do not have a TT TV subscription, but I am connected to TalkTalk Medium Fibre broadband. I have a purchased BT Humax Youview box. It registered just fine with TalkTalk Player, and if I wanted to I could get the TalkTalk pay per view content. Just haven't found anything there that I would spend money on!0
