Pretty self explanatory, my understanding is at some point i am suppose to claim back the 20% Vat charged in the uk but will their be a handling charge from the courier like when i order in from America?

Also the price is substantially cheaper but this could well be because the product is made in Germany so will be cheaper to purchase their and the exchange rate is favourable, product is 70 pounds in the uk and same amount of euros in germany.

The website can be viewed in english so i presume they are geared to ship here but is there any way to check they are a reputable company?

Well just seen their shipping information is in German so i'll probably contact them. How much roughly should shipping be if anyone knows? I will ask my teacher to as she purchased from germany recently. ..
Thank you

There won't be any VAT to reclaim.

When buying goods from another EU country, you pay the VAT at the rate charged in that country and when shipment gets to the UK it will be delivered with no extra charges or duty payable so there will not be any courier handling charges.

Using my very basic understanding of German, it looks like the P&P to the UK is €10.95

Keep in mind you'd be buying under german law also.

If there isnt much of a difference, personally I'd buy from the UK. Its not usually the case when buying from another EU country, but sometimes buying from another country can also mean you have no manufacturers warranty.

Just some things to keep in mind when purchasing from outside of the UK.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • If you buy from anywhere in EU and you have any problems, you can always use the European Small Claim procedure:

It's not available in the uk anymore, all sold out everywhere which seems to be a pattern with the good leki stuff. Either no stock or they have the low end and high end available only.

Price difference is about £28 pounds + extra for shipping but it's a mout point since it's sold out in the uk... Closest equivalent is the model up that's £105!

I should be ok without a warranty there's not much that can go wrong unless the structure is unsound and it snaps which would be very very unlucky, parts are reasonably priced and easy to replace in the uk.

    Großbritannien (GB): 10,95 EUR

80 Euros for some Leki poles sounds like a bargain. Assuming the site's legit of course.

Thank you, they are £70 here on sale too almost the exact same offer but they are sold out, so it's not a huge difference, the real saving comes in the exchange rate I think rather then the company selling cheap. Don't get me wrong it's cheaper but the fact they are made in Germany means they are sold there a little cheaper.

I can't figure out how to pick the size, I click on 105cm but nothing changes and their no indication of size in the shopping basket. Have they sold out?

The higher model is still in stock and it's still a bargain at £76 including postage. The same thing in the uk is £108.

I'll have to decide if I should jump before it's to late.

I've never had any problems purchasing from Germany.
In fact I had a delivery last week, of an eBay purchase, which saved me around £70 on the same thing bought in the U.K.. The product is genuine, new and Danish.
