I wish it did happen. Alex Salmond would have achieved Guy Fawkes status, and all the Scots begging not to leave would have been hilarious. I wonder where Alex Salmond could have run to to avoid getting burnt in person? Join the Jihad in Syria?

Glad it would have gave you so much pleasure.

Most of us saw through Salmonds claptrap, I asked a Yes canvasser who dared knock on my door "what happens in the event in a slump in oil prices?"/His reply was that they wouldn''t drop, they'd stay high long term. Yeah ok.
its simple, they get commission for each and every switch, so for every new deal that comes out, they will give u the "switch now"

I had to laugh when eon came out with the first price cut

MSE said switch now. rather than wait until the other 5 cut theirs,
its all about cash now it seems.

Yes, the mantra was always "wait until the others have cut prices then switch". How things have changed.

Fixing for three years as suggested by moneysup, sorry, money saving expert, at the end of last year, was madness.
'Suggested' is the key word. Not recommended or 'told to fix for three years', it was merely an option for people who don't switch often and were looking for a fixed tariff where they don't have to worry about switching again in a year's time - they would have been aware that they were paying more per year for this luxury because Cheap Energy Club makes this perfectly clear. Anyone who opted for the three year fix did so willingly after being shown cheaper alternatives, including the MSE E.On tariff, which was the cheapest overall for the majority of people, and which I imagine was the most popular choice during the Big Switch event.
