Parking Eye Ticket at my local hospital.

Hello. I work at my local hospital. My wife collects me from and drops me off at work. I have just received a parking ticket from parking Eye for staying in the hospital car park overnight. This is absolute rubbish. On the 14th of December, I had work till 9. The parking Eye Ticket says my wife came to collect me at 9:13pm. This is correct. The ticket then claims that we stayed overnight and left at 7:51am along with a picture. Firstly the picture taken supposedly at 7:51 was in darkness. At 7:51am on the 15th of January there would have been sunlight. Secondly, the next day I had work starting at 8, so my wife dropped me off and left around 7:51. I think there was a fault with their machine that did not count my wife's exit after she collected me at 9 on the 14th. I now have to pay 60 pounds. What should I do? Should I mention in my appeal that the second picture being rubbish as it would have been night time or should I attach proof to the appeal of my work schedule and explain how I'm collected/dropped off. Please help! Thanks.

just appeal it using the appeal template in the NEWBIES sticky thread

you can add that the car was not left overnight andf to check their machines again as there were 2 visits , not one (a common occurrence called double dipping)

DO NOT MENTION WHO WAS DRIVING, ONLY "THE DRIVER DID THIS BLAH BLAH"

NO me myself or I like in your post

then take it to popla if they dont cancel (if this is in england or wales)

also see if PALS or the union can sort this out too

also try and use the enter key more, to space out your posts better (like mine are)

    thanks

' I now have to pay 60 pounds'

    RUBBISH!

Pay it to me instead[please:-)] - I'm as entitled as any private parking scumpany to demand money from you

Just go straight to the newbies Thread[as per redx] here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822

It requires thorough reading, but don't waste any hours of today's beautiful sunshine on it.

Post any drafts here for a critique. Don't ring the scumpany.

Hello, this is what I have written. Please help.
Dear Parking Eye, I am writing to you as the registered keeper of the vehicle.
As the registered keeper of (reg) I'm in receipt of your parking invoice (number) dated xxxxxx. I wish to invoke your appeals process as all liability to your company is denied due to the following:

The passenger in the car works shifts. The date where the driver entered the car park to pick up the passenger at the hospital was the 14th of January at 9:13pm. This is correct because the passenger had a late shift till 9 on that date, as you can see in the attached file(the work roster) and the driver went to collect them.

The driver then, however, after picking up the passenger, returned home. This is where I as the keeper suspect a fault with your machine. The passenger had another early shift the next morning that started at 8am and ended at 6pm(as seen in the roster). The driver dropped off the passenger around 7:50 which is the supposed "time of departure" that the ticket provides. I suspect a double dip has occurred here, where the machine has not registered the actual departure time.

The passenger works at the hospital and the work roster can be confirmed with the hospital itself. The passenger's shifts can be seen highlighted in the attached photo.

To conclude, there were 2 visits, not one. Please check your machines again, as the car did not stay overnight. I would also like to add the following:

The amount being claimed is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss to your company or the landowner(if the incident stated had occurred) and you are not the landowner and do not have the capacity to offer contracts or to bring a claim for trespass. These points, the incident and others will be raised with Popla should you not accept this appeal, and you will be expected to provide a full breakdown of your alleged loss, and your full unredacted contract with the landowner.

Please issue your cancellation within 35 days of this letter, or forward a popla verification code.

    Yours Faithfully

I'm not sure about the darkness bit.
Even in mid Jan the sun rises around 0758 here and if the weather is overcast, it will likely still look pretty dark in photographs.

Personally, I would stick to the tried and tested methods of not a GPEOL, contract with landowner etc, as PE seem to be folding at first sight of a robust forum-assisted challenge, as they know they will lose at POPLA.

The example in post no.1 in the Newbies sticky is a good starting point.

And keep the double-dip bit in too.

Edit: your edit beat this post to the board...

    check for spelling errors

    like this one

in the attatched file(the work roster)

    should be attached

    another one should say occurred

otherwise it seems ok for the first contact

bear in mind anpr photos are dark in order to highlight the reg plate (they arent holiday photos nor are they cctv either)

Thanks mate, fixed the spelling errors and removed the parts about the dark light. I will now send this off.
