Well personally it seems a big investment just for a few games - although as a intense xbox player if it is a game that you like playing I can relate to knowing how much time you will spend on them! So, it depends on what that £400 will do to your bank account really.
The only problem with an xbox there is other things to have to purchase to get the full experience - An extra controller £40, the games £40 each plus xbox live which is £45 pounds a year(maybe cheaper on amazon.co.uk).
tsk tsk.
Live should be under £30 if you shop around
eg
£28.90 for 13 months

every console needs an extra controller if you wish to play 2 player.
Games, well depends what and when you buy.
Eg I got Titanfall deluxe (digital)for £10
now sitting at £19.99
Forza 5 is £19.99 on the same site.0 -
Well, if you're wanting advise or help to make that decision on whether to get one or not - and esp with this being a money saving site hehe, I'd say an emphatic no.
Here's why though...
All your friends are on PS4 - that's the big one.
You've already got a PS4
You don't spend THAT much time on the PS4 as it is, surely you'd spend even less on the Xbone?
Have you still got your 360? It might be old now, but it still rocks, and the current crop of new generation games aren't THAT much of a step up yet (They will be once the studios get used to working with new generation)
If so, then all the Halo are still obviously available on the 360, and even Forza Horizon 2 is.
I'd wait a year perhaps, then get a Xbone, the price will probably have come down a bit more, there will be loads of new games available etc.
Course, all this could change if a game changer was to come out that somehow played better on the Xbone than the PS4. I'm thinking a new Elder Scrolls for one, however things have reversed since last generation. Whereas then games would be more optimised for the Xbox, now the PS4 has become the console of default.
GTA V has more foliage on PS4, for anyone who really cares - maybe if you're a botanist0 -
I am sticking with my ps4 for now0

As a long time xbox gamer since the original, if the only thing you want to buy an Xbone for is Halo and Forza...
Save yourself the money
Forza is a GREAT game, But halo has been on a downward spiral since Reach.
as for the new gears. I'm a full on gear head. but since Epic sold the rights to it. I'm Dubious to buy0 -
12 Month Xbox Live Gold Membership (Xbox One/360) is $31.99 on gamesdeal.com.0

My OH just swapped his Xbox One for a PS4, IMO I don't see the point spending all that money to play just two games but it's your money so your choiceRead my diaryHere0
