photo scanning problem

just scanned in a few photos, but they are old and have some sort of stuff on them thats eaten the shine away in parts. The scanner has picked this up and so have a 'blob' on some of the photos. I dont know how to remove this, i have photoshop but the blob goes right over the persons face (like a white sort of see through sheen) any ideas?

I'm being a bit dim today, so I'm not quite sure waht you're saying the problem is, but if you like PM me, and I'll give you my email and I'll have a look at one of the images for you.

Have you tried rescanning at different settings?
I had the same problem, but a bit of experimenting with the scanner settings reduced the problem and Photoshop did the rest.
