It can happen quite often with competitions in my experience. I tend to wait the time it states in the terms & conditions then contact them. Sometimes I have needed to be persistent, which usually works, but there is a complaints body that some kind person on this forum will provide you with the information. Hope you manage to get your prize. Jo.

had to wait about 4 months in total last year for a £250 coffee machine, in that time i emailed them a total of 6 times, 1 a month until later on then turned into every other day, so 3 times in the 4th month and it was sent out on a Friday and i received it on the Sunday.

    was worth it though :)

Back in October I had an email from Paco Rabanne to say I'd won a bottle of their Invictus fragrance. I heard no more and contacted them at the end of Nov asking when it would be sent, they replied saying it would be sent shortly and they would email when it had been dispatched.

Still nothing from them so I emailed again at the beginning of Jan, this time they didn't reply. On Tuesday of this week I emailed again saying if I'd heard nothing within another week I was contacting the ASA. No email but this morning I received a box from France containing the fragrance.

Its definitely worth quoting the official bodies to them.

Not sure if it is just me but this seems to be happening more and more often, especially with Facebook and Twitter comps.

Not getting a prize was a rare occurrence at one time, but I find I have to chase about 1 in 3 now and it's a bit disheartening.

A huge thank you to all who post the comps and deals that make life so much fun!
  • thanks for all your help, ill keep e mailing them and take it further if i still dont get the prize.

Oh yes, still waiting for my win from 20th dec, £500 woth of bags, the company comunication is poor, they dont answer the phone, or reply to messages, I did recieve 1 bag yesterday & had to phone yet again to ask where the other 4 bags were [this is what they finaly decided to offer me], still waiting for that elusive reply. So just keep pestering them, hope you recieve your prize soon.

I won on a FB instant comp 5th Dec, not a high value item, about £15/£20 have messaged via FB normally a few days later each time I get a response to say prizes still being sent out or we will follow this up and get back to you shortly, that was the last message I got last Monday messaged again Thur for update no reply yet. Seen others who are still waiting on prizes writting comments on their FB page but I don't like to do that. I was really happy to win as I played everyday but then it takes the shine off winning when you have to chase so much. Good luck with your prize

I have been chasing a few companies lately for prizes. I sent one company 5 emails over the span of a month and when they failed to reply to even 1 of them, I decided to use my threat tactic (that I will be contacting the ASA if I do not receive a reply within 48 hours!) And it works almost 99% of the time for me usually and in this case, within 24 hours I had received a reply email and then another 24 hours later, I had my prize!

It was the same with another company I had to chase recently. No replies to emails 2 months after I had been notified that I was a winner and as soon as I threatened them with the ASA, I suddenly received a reply and then my prize!

Funny how when you mention the ASA to promoters/companies, they suddenly reply with....

'so sorry, I have been away on holiday and never received your earlier emails. I will post out your prize today'

    or....

'so sorry for not replying. I have been off sick but will post out your prize asap!' :D

Yeah right! My sister always told me 'Shy girls get nowt' and I firmly believe she was right!

I always give them a month to send out my prize and if it doesn't arrive I send a gently reminder and then another a week later and so on. If after 2 months, I still don't have my prize and have received little or no correspondence, then I start threat tactics! :)
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea
