Morning, I've just had my MOT and one of the advisories is "nearside front anti-roll bar has slight play in a ball joint"..

How much should I be looking at to get this fixed?

£25ish for the part, a bit more for a decent quality one that won't need doing again next year - and probably an hour labour if it comes apart easily.

Wont be expensive, but you have to work out if it is the body mounting bush (anti roll bar bush) or the drop-link.

Ok don't blame you then, you did right;)

I had my Alfa 147 repaired lower offside ball joint replaced only recently, like you it was last years advisory on the mot, even though it did not fail the mot this time round , I had it replaced , I watched him do it , it was a bit tricky I must say , the total charge was £77 , I provider the ball joint complete with the arm & it was £37 ,so the labour was £40 & I bet it was 3 hours work , no brew , but I trust the garage & they will be doing the cam belt when the weather gets warmer.

Take the play up in the joint.

Well op said ball joint. The AR bar bushes you refer to are D bushes so we can assume it's the droplink.

Cheapo droplink, £50 ish. Decent one +£10-15

Your on about the wishbone, not the ARBar.
    1-1.5hrs. 2 absolute max.
Can be tough to get the pinch bolt and ball joint out and a tad fiddly at the rear but certainly not tricky nor anything close to 3hrs
