Help trying to access credit report

Options
Hi i'm hoping someone can shed some light on this-

I've been trying to access my credit report from a few different companies. I have tried;

Equifax
Experian
Noddle

& none of the companies can verify my identity but I don't know why.

I've recently applied and been accepted for my first credit card and although it was with my current account bank I also had to go in branch and verify my identity with them.

I've searched myself on 192.com :rotfl: (who I believe get their data from electoral roll) and it states I am 44-49 years old ( 20+ years out!) despite me always ensuring I fill in & return electoral roll details when we get them through post. [don't know if this has anything to do with it]

So basically - does anyone have any suggestions as to why this keeps happening?

:)

I'd guess it's your address causing a problem is it a flat or called a name? Check what address layout the post office have for you. If you had an existing current account for a period of time and are on the electoral roll there must be something for you somewhere.

No its just House number, road, area, city postcode. All post comes addressed that way. Address I use matches royal mail postcode checker.

Been at address 3 years with current account open during that time

Have you tried requesting a postal version of your credit file from any/all of the 3 agencies?

That is usually the option for someone struggling to get though the online verification.

These problems usually stem from one or more of not being on the electoral roll/ address mismatch/brand new address (i.e. a new build house)/ not having any credit accounts at the current address.

192 gets its data from a variety of sources I believe.

No I haven't, I didn't realise that would make a difference so I will try it, thanks.

I am on electoral roll & have lived here almost 4 years although I have only very recently got a credit card so that could be the issue. I'l wait a while for records to be updated to show I have a credit card here (if thats how it works!)

    Thanks :)
