Recycling electrical goods. Have to pay.

Unfortunately Currys stopped picking up goods for free, they now charge £10 for transportation costs.
It's because AO, Argos, JL, anyone who sold white goods charged for recycling, so Currys stopped doing it on the 16th I think in order to be in line with other retailers. Which is a bit of a shame, Still they allow you to recycle anything electrical in their stores, even if you're not a customer.
Be it broken microwaves or lawn mowers.0 -
We regularly get rag and bone men come around our area, usually on the weekend.
We have just disposed of a dishwasher and a washing machine (both broken) by leaving them by our back gate. Neither were there more than an hour before they were taken. Job done.0 -
Do not dump this stuff, if it works then there are plenty of others who will come & take it away from you to reuse it.
Look up your local Freegle group at https://www.ilovefreegle.org
The OP could have saved on the cost of getting the cooker removed too with this, plenty of people are after cookers.
Or Gumtree etc; some charities still take electrical goods (BHF have furniture and electrical shops, or see furniture recycle network website).A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Just an update. Delivery failed to arrive. Turned up three days late. Guys just loaded all items we'd left out front without hesitation or questions. All goods not working as it had been raining.0
