Scrapping a car
Hi
My friend's mother in law has died and they have got to start sorting out her stuff. The immediate family are finding it extremely difficult. She has an old car that needs selling first.
I been looking at scrapping sites and recycling car sites, I'm just wondering if anyone had any recommendations??
Thanks in advance

Depends on the car , it maybe scrap to you, but good to somebody else.0

Bung it on ebay0

SORN it if its not already SORN'd. Dont forget that even if its taxed currently it wont be when the next person buys it they must tax it. So get your refund now.
As above stick it on ebay with a starting price of whatever the scrapman or we buy any car type of place offers.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
What car and year is it? Would hate to see a rare vehicle getting scrapped! Here to help with any car buying or selling issues having now gathered 11 years experience in the motor trade with 9 of those running my own business. Always happy to help and being female myself can appreciate how daunting the prospect of buying or selling a car can be!0

I don't think that's a very good idea.
Take the tax off and no-one will be able to test drive it or even move it on the road and we don't even know where it is stored. For the sake of a few quid far better to leave tax on till sold and get automatic refund.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
What about the insurance. No insurance = SORN also.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Make and model would help...and year of reg.
The easy option is a car auction, if it can be got there. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
If it runs someone will buy it for much more than the scrap value.0
