Lasting power of attorney doesnt work with the leeds building society

Hi need some advice. have got lasting power of attorney through the Solicitors (so cost lots) to cut along story short dad passed away, my mum is disabled she cannot walk or write but all faculties are there. The Leeds building society will not accept the lasting power of attorney or in other words the law of the land as this document has been approved by the courts, unless we pay the doctors for a letter to confirm she cannot write. The solicitor has signed on mums behalf as witness to her disability. They are the only bank that we have a problem with. Even the pension department have accepted the LPoA. Why does the Leeds Building society not accept the law of the land?? Anybody else having problems? Thinking of reporting them/this to the Department for disability/disabled people. discrimination??
