Hi,
I'm a member of the military and over the last 3 years have endured several 6 month tours of Afghanistan. Whilst deployed I have saved and saved to buy my family our dream home. When I returned at the start of 2015 I approached lenders for a mortgage and was declined due to 4 "late" payments to a store card.
The payments were a week (or less) late due to me being unable to get online because of my location. (Bad wifi in the desert).
Is there any way I can have these 3 or 4 "late payment" marks taken off my credit score?
Desperately needing help....
Thanks

The late payment markers are a true representation of how your are financially, you could have setup a direct debit to take the money. Yoiu can ask nicely those who the payments were late for to remove the late payment mark but don't expect them to remove it.0

Hi Bmilner890,
The late payment markers represent how the account was run by you and if the payments were in fact late, then the business with which you have the store card won't remove the markers and they will remain visible on file for 6 years, after which they will drop/roll off.
Given your circumstances, it would be best to engage a good "whole of market" mortgage broker, as they would be best placed to source the right mortgage product from the right lender whose lending criteria best fit your credit history.0
