Are indesit sales team operating a scam?

I have an Indesit cooker which needs some replacement parts, when I rang up I was really suprised by the pushiness of the advisor. Somehow, I ended up with an appointment for an engineer before I decided what other options I might take. Anyway, I cancelled that appointment, but had to call again when there was a discrepancy on the website. After speaking to another advsior and telling him what parts I wanted, he totalled it up to far more than it said. When I asked him why, he told me it was £15 for postage! I said I dont want to pay that much, then he said ok then I can do it for £6.99. After my previous experience I hesitated. He then said 'whats the matter is the postage too expensive', as if to say it was negotiable. I declined to buy it which he didnt like, but I was absolutely gobsmaked, when I checked myself and saw the postage was £2.99. There was no option to pay £15 so what is going on, how many people have rang up for parts and been charged over the odds.

    I only see 2 options

    Express delivery £6.99
    Standard delivery £2.99

but like most paying the standard charge the goods will arrive in just the same as it you paid express charge
