Tell them the price has gone up £5000, if they can do it, so can you.0

Just had a call from EA and they have decided to pull out.
On the plus side another potential buyer is coming round first thing tomorrow so with luck we'll be under offer again soon.0 -
Good luck - I am sure it will be snapped up, and hopefully at the full price rather than the discounted one!
Sorry that you went through all that, don't tar all buyers with the same brush. People are just messers in general. Grrrrrr :mad:0 -
Sorry you have lost the buyer but glad you stood up to them.MFIT No. 810

Surely having a survey done by a friend is a conflict of interest, so well out of order anyway.
Good luck with new viewer/s.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
How frustrating grrr, but well done for sticking to your guns, it's their loss! Fingers crossed tomorrow's viewer's will put an offer in! It wouldn't surprise me if your Buyers crawl back by the end of the week...0

the purchasers said they were in a position to move quickly, and that they would not mess us around or seek to renegotiate on price.
I am a cash buyer and I intend to tell the vender the above and anything else to secure me a good cheap deal but this is not easy in my area as houses are selling fast.
If I then went on to use the last minute price drop trick my wife would not move with me!!!
pondering that thought for a moment :-)
glad you stood up to them0 -
Any luck with finding another buyer yet Nicki?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get an even better offer very soon! Do let us know how things are going.

Find out what similar properties rent out for in your area and what the demand is. You could then stick it on a BTL mortgage instead and keep it if the rentals stack up. You get to move when you want and you can get a decent market price for your property. Once the market has risen in a few years time you could remortgage the BTL and get your equity out of it completely.
Any buyer that messed me around like that would be told to sling their hook, even if they revised their offer back to where it was. The quicker numpties like that are excluded from buying the better.0 -
Thanks for the support. Will post an update in a few days when I've calmed down and when we are sure everything is back on an even keel. However all looking positive for us still being able to complete when planned even though there will be a delay before we can exchange contracts.0
