DVLA Say Im not the Registered Keeper?

Hi Everyone,
Can someone please guide me as to what is happening. I recently purchased a vehicle on 29 of dec 2014. I have received a V5C dated 7th of January 2015. and then i have a received a letter 8th of January that i am no longer the registered owner of the vehicle, which is not true as i am still the owner of the vehicle and vehicle and V5C are still with me.Last Wednesday i called DVLA to enquire about whats happening, and DVLA has open a case for investigation as to what is happening. When i spoke to DVLA they were talking about some disposal certificate which i don't know what it means.
DVLA did asked how did i purchased the vehicle and that was through a trader who purchased this vehicle from an auction.

Its been almost 1 week and 2 days and still i haven't received any response from DVLA , can someone please guide me as to what is happening.

Thanks

Disposal certificate sounds like they've been notified it's been scrapped. I wonder if the previous keeper thought they'd scrapped it, was given the certificate, then the scrappy decided it was too good, fixed it, put it into the auction.

Given them a bit more than a week!

HPI it and see if its been written off. Some naughty trader bought a Cat A or B car that should be scrapped and never return to the road?

Did the trader tell you it's hpi clear or have you checked yourself?

I HPI it myself using the paid as well free checking service and the car is clear everywhere.

Below are the list of things i did before purchasing the car
    (1) HPI Check using paid and free service
    (2) I requested the dealer a new MOT on the car. So he got me a new MOT from approved ford dealer. So MOT checking as i have spoken to DVLA customer service regarding the MOT as MOT was done the same day when i purchased the car so it didnt have updated the same day. So spoke to DVLA and they confirmed me MOT is done with no ADVISORIES

I bought a car some years back. I paid for a HPI check prior to purchase (private sale).
I had the car 5 years and it passed every MOT.

I threw it in an Auction when I was done with it only to receive a call from the auction house after it had sold telling me it was a Cat C, registered 2 Months before I bought it.

I had to reduce the selling price (the buyer believed all the servicing and MOT paperwork I had retained fortunately).

But if it would have been a written off, wont the V5C would have had a mark on it and thr date wheh the VIC test was done.

I Just found this on other website ; dont know how much of it is true

"Try not to worry it's a common-ish error that can occur (I'm ex DVLA).

What happens is if you buy car from dealer they send off the front page of logbook to update you as new keeper (hence you getting the logbook). But at the same time the previous owner who part ex'd the car sends off his slip from the logbook. If this has been delayed for whatever reason, and it updates after yours, then it would remove you as the keeper, and there would be no current keeper.

The person you spoke to would have raised an inquiry with the relevant dept to check the microfilm copy of the part of the logbook that set the disposal to be sure that this is what has happened (which can be confirmed by the name on slip or ref code). This takes 10-14 days.

If the reason is the one I've explained then there should be no problem with it being sorted out. You will either get a new logbook or a letter explaining it's all sorted.

Like I said it's not an unusual occurance so try not to worry!

I'm inclined to agree with the quote that you found that the DVLA will sort it out. They mistakenly allocated a personal plate number (not belonging to me) to my car, so when I checked my number plate it wasn't showing up. I rang them, they looked into it and rang back the next day, then send me a new V5C to ensure that I had the correct information (although all the information was actually the same as the V5C I already had as I'd never been sent anything when the mistake was made).

Which auction screwed you down for price when they already charge privateers exorbitant indemnity fees? Wouldn't have shown up on the V5C unless the V5C had been updated and VIC'd.

But when i recieved the new owner V5C , it would have shown on it. and it would have shown on the HPI check as well. Still i do HPI check and it comes out clear on it
