PCN - Vehicle Control Services - Rossendales Advice

Hi everyone,

This is my first post after reading the some of the stickies and newbie posts.

I've received a parking charge notice from Vehicle Control Services LTD. 6 months ago because of my wife who stayed in shopping centres car park over 2 hours. Spoke to friend of mine who advice me not to pay and ignore all the letters from them.

Only just found out this maybe a mistake.

I'll tell you where I am now please help me what to do next.

I've received 2 letters from VCS to start with one Parking Charge Notice and another Liability Notice.

I've ignored both and received 3 letters from Rossendales Collect.

Last letter from Rossendales says that

- A doorsep collector being instructed to visit your property to collect payment
- A commencement of legal proceedings againts you. If legal proceedings are issued and a judgement or a decree is obtained againts you, court fees and legel costs could significantly increase the amount you owe.

I never got in touch with VCS and ignored them, they spelled my name wrong on the letter too.

Now should i just pay £130 and forget about it? if I don't what should i expect in near future as I'm planning to buy a house in couple of months time and my credit score is very important. Would this effect my credit score.

Thanks for taking time and reading it.

nobody can knock on your door without a court order, plus these letters have been discussed on here many times over the years

read post #4 of the newbies sticky thread about debt collectors, and continue to ignore (for up to 6 years)

it would appear you havent read this either

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035663

easily found using the forum search and the search word rossendales

you would need to have lost in court, not paid within 28 days to get a CCJ against you

in your case only a fool would pay this debt collector
  • Thanks for replying.

I couldn't find the post #4, could you please post a link.

Does that mean anyone who knocks on my door is breaking the law? So I don't need to pay the milkman or the window cleaner when they come calling? ;)

(I know what you meant - but it could have been phrased better). :D

replies can always be phrased better :) but I am not a lawyer and never said I was

I meant in the context of what was posted in post #1 and it should be taken as read and go without saying that a reply is in respect of previous posts

    so
Last letter from Rossendales says that

    - A doorstep collector being instructed to visit your property to collect payment

my reply to the above is

nobody can knock on your door without a court order, plus these letters have been discussed on here many times over the years
I also told them to read the ROSSENDALES thread and NEWBIES sticky thread post #4 to get better clarification

I could have told them many things, like telling the doorstep collector to "frack off" but I didnt
