  • If theres no chance of going back, then I suggest nicking as much as you can stick up your jumper as you leave ;)

I recently set up a limited company. Its a piece of pi55 compared to the first time I did it - you can do it all online for about 60 quid. Even registering for VAT and returning all the various forms is done online at the govenment website. Understanding them though takes a bit more time, especially the PAYE stuff, but its certainly satisfying once done.

Well done you! I'm in a similar position where I have 3 weeks left till I finish here - I just had enough of the company I work for (not my team or my clients! I'd happily carry on working for my client but not the company that actually employs me to do the outsourced support!) and the rubbish pay, the lack of gratitude for a job bloody well done, for all the extra hours I put in, the back stabbing and the penny pinching because the company is run by people who shouldn't have responcibility for monopoly money let alone a blooming company!
So... I'm job hunting like mad, but also looking at alternative ways of supporting myself when in 3 weeks I'll be unemployed... I have a partner who thankfully is supportive and understands that the stress was making me so ill I had to leave. He earns a decent salary so together I have no doubt we can make it :)
I'm looking at starting a few websites (had plenty in the past lol but all non-profit ones - these will be different!), selling stuff on ebay, possibly working with the "sex text" services mentioned elsehwere on the boards, selling a few bits and bobs that I crochet myself on one of my sites and so on going forward. Whether a craft store/site will earn you enough to support you and your sister in paid employment too... I honestly wouldn't hedge any bets on this! Try it but I wouldn't rely on it to be your sole income! :)
    Good luck!

    Good luck :)

I noticed in your signature that you have an egg card but havent stated what your interest is.

If its not at a great rate of interest tell egg that you are thinking of leaving them as you feel you are paying too much interest and you can get a better deal elsewhere. I did that and the card went from 16.9% to 5.7%

Also have you set you "your accounts" on egg? It shows you everything you owe cards/loans on one page.

What are you thinking of going back to uni to do? Is it an undergrad degree?

My friend already has a degree, but she decided she couldn't do anything with it so has gone back to retrain as an Occupational Therapist, she's got full student loans etc and hasn't paid back so much as a penny on the other she had the first time round.

So finance, since it's all loans these days shouldn't really be a problem, but obviously it does depend on your own circumstances. They do tend to throw it at you these days though!
