End of Sky Contract Advice

Hi all,
My Sky contract is up, have been with these guys for 4 years so far. been getting letters over the past few months informing of price increases etc but only small amounts, however these do add up over time. Right now I am at a cross roads and want to review the services i have from Sky and obviously shop around to save money.
Here's what i have in mind but don't know if any are actually practical so your advice would be great.
Due to the area I'm currently living it, I am unable to get a service from Virgin Media. Sky or BT are really the only providers for my area at the moment.
I've been happy with Sky for some time however would still like to get a good deal (as everyone does). these deals are normally to *New customers only* my current package is costing me £50 per month, everything included, (Basic Tv, Broadband, Line Rental etc).
I Called Sky today to see what offers etc they could do for me.
Option 1
They could save me £8 a month in total each month off my bill. bringing the price down to £42 per month but.. i would be entering into another 12 month contract. Not bad I guess, but I did try to haggle a little more for a new Sky Box & Remote. mine is out of warranty and has seen better days. Sky wouldn't budge on a new Sky box and I would have to buy another, which is Fair enough.
Option 2.
(I don't know if this is possible or worth a shot? but.....).
What if I Cancel all my subscriptions.. & leave Sky. have my partner take out a new contract in her name and of course do this via a cash back website?. of course we would get cash back, plus new Sky Box , and be entered into another contract of 12 months+ either way. I think the only difference is.. if we were to get the same package deal, it would cost £2 extra per month compared to what we would be paying in Option 1 ^^. is it worth it?
Option 3
Cancel with Sky, Sign up with BT. but from what i have read so far BT can be pretty pricey.
Any advice on Do's & Dont's?? what to look our for? experiences? anyone done something similar before? would be a help.
Thanks in Advance all.

This option is unlikely to work as presumably your partner lives at the same address as you do. Sky works on a household basis as far as new customer discounts are concerned.
Best option is to cancel Sky completely and wait for them to contact you with a retentions offer. I would do this for TV in the first instance as it may take cutting off before you get a good deal.
As to telephone/BB find some other deals and then negotiate once you have figures.
Read through this thread before deciding what to do.

If Option 2 costs £2.00 a month more (without taking into account the cash back) then you only need £24.00 of 'something' to be in the same position you would be with option 1 (ignoring that you will have a new sky box). I don't know what cash back site you use, but mine offers anywhere between £60 and £120 depending on the package. That or the mastercard pre-paid card sounds like a winner! :j26/05/2018 = I DID IT! I am DEBT FREE!
Debts repaid since 06/02/2015 = £23,079
Mortgage...forever!!!! - But who cares, when all I've ever wanted is my own place!:j0 -

Option 2 will not work unless the OP's partner lives at a different address! Sky are not daft.0 -
Your contract isn't up, your minimum term is. It continues until you give your 30 days notice. No free lunch, and no free laptop
