Help with experian credit report

Options
Hi, so long story short...

I've been trying for the past 18 months to transfer my joint mortgage with my ex into my sole name but have came across a few stumbling blocks along the way.

Firstly I had 'no credit score' which meant I hadn't ever had a credit card or anything to prove I can make repayments on time. So after taking out a credit card and overdraft my score went up. Next was my ex refused to let me have the mortgage and wouldnt sign the relevant transfer documents. Then about 6 months after that we agreed to try the transfer again. This time my credit score was poor (i had a bit of trouble with money and had quite a lot on my overdraft/credit card) so I have since worked hard to tidy up my finances etc. My question is my current score is 833 (which is classed as 'fair' and is in the green area of the scoring system. I have an appointment with the bank this weekend to start the transfer again and I was wondering how they will view my credit file? I haven't missed any payments but my % of lending is at 80% which I guess wont look great. I've held a mortgage since I was 18 (almost 5 years) so I hope they will view my situation in a good light! I'm just concerned that being turned down this time will affect my credit rating big time! over the past year I've closed current accounts (one was around £1000 overdrawn) and have halved my borrowing on my credit card. really trying! does anyone have any tips at all to scrub up my file before I go in to apply for the mortgage again?

Lenders will score you themselves. On a number of criteria. Your score has no bearing. Your credit usage will. Whether it will impact the outcome depends on your personal financial circumstances and the affordability criteria that the lender will use.
