How much to charge for scaffolding.

Scaffolding went up last Wednesday, work completed on Friday and assured scaffolding down Monday/Tuesday.
It's still up, despite phone calls. I don't like being used as 'storage'.
How much rent do you think I should charge? Had to wait in two days already to allow access. Or shall I just keep them until I am available to be here to let them in? (Which could be a few weeks).

It seems all scaffold firms do this, they erect scaffold then contractor does his work then contractor should tell scaffold firm he is finished for them to remove it, but scaffold firms never in hurry to remove it until they need it for job.0

If you sold it as scrap it might fetch a pretty penny.0

You can charge what you want but how do you think you're then going to get them to pay as they would have never agreed to the charge.0 -
You cannot charge them without their agreement so if you presented them with an invoice they would ignore it.Thinking critically since 1996....0

How is the weather at yours, too? Could it be that the conditions prevent them from removing it safely?0

Sadly very common.
Scaffolding went up at neighbours the week before Christmas and was told it would be there for three days.
Still there and no work has yet been started.
Weather has not been a hindrance.0 -
My neighbour had scaffold put up so they could have their roof redone and part of this had to be on our property, 3 weeks after the work was complete it was still their, neighbour is elderly and was feeling uneasy with it still being up, and when she called the contractor he just kept saying he had told the scaffold company to collect it, as the scaffold had one of them signs saying who the scaffold was from i called them on behalf of neighbour and they stated they had not been told to remove it, but told me they would have it collected ASAP, a week later no sign of them, so called them again and got the same they would collect ASAP, so i told then thats OK, it will be on the public footpath waiting collection as i will take it down for them to collect. Strange an hour later they arrived to take it down.0

I had a similar problem with scaffolding after having New Fascia and Boards and all new windows fitted.
I agreed with the installer 25% paid on order,50% paid on completion and the balance within 28 days.
After a couple of weeks the scaffold was still there so i contacted the installer and told him the 28 days commenced after it was removed, two days later it had gone !!0
