Hi ı made a thread last november about registering for electrol roll ,


The council said i will be on there on the 1st of december 2014, some people said it takes longer so i waited...

Today i checked on 192.com and my name comes up on there before it wasn't, does this mean i am registered now?
Have i got a credit file? I dont have any debit/credit cards or phone contracts in my name, so i really want to open a bank account.

Sorry how can i do this?
When i try to register they want a card that is registered in my name, and i dont have one..

The best thing to do is to contact your local council office. Find their contact details on this website, which is run by the Electoral Commission (an independent body set up by the UK Parliament). On the website, enter your postcode in the pink box labelled Your local area on the right hand side of the web page. Once you contact the council, they'll confirm your status on the electoral register.

192 is a private company and I wouldn't rely on them for official confirmation.

How much information is held about you on your credit file by the 3 different UK credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax, Callcredit/Noddle) depends on your financial history and activity.

I checked on equilfax and it shows ı am on there

For some reason ıt says ive lived here for less than a year but ive lived here for like 5 years?
But wasnt on electrol roll.

They will be going on the data available to them. If you have lived at your address for five years you should be on the electoral roll there for a similar time. However it is up to you (or until recently, the householder) to register to vote.
