Insurance Companies Getting too smart?

Firstly it's insurance fraud, and if you were found out then you'd probably have the insurance cancelled -which would impact hugely long term as you'd have to declare this in future.
Secondly, as you've rung up they will have a record of the conversation and therefore your attempt to lie your way out if found out, wouldn't succeed anyway.
This year I just had to swallow the higher price (leaves a nasty taste though).
I was thinking of next year's renewal; just don't mention birth dates at all and if it is one day out so what? They would look stupid if it went to court over 1 day difference 50-odd years ago. Unfortunately this time, I was unable to find a better multi-car quote elsewhere although one wasn't too far off.0 -

Dont mention anything, just call them and say you've seen better prices online and whats the best they can do. They always beat their on online new customer prices when I did this anyway. That way no fraud is required.0 -

So do they ask for the company who is offering the better price and actually what you have been quoted?0 -

Not always and even if they do I've always just given a vague answer that there were a couple of companies ive never heard of and would rather stick with them if they can get their price right0
