income support question

Hi there, hope someone can help. I'm a carer and claiming Income Support. The claim is in my name. My hubby gets contribution based ESA support group and DLA.
I got my first pair of free glasses last week, and have been looking into if my hubby is entitled too. From what I can see hes not, but on the NHS website, its says "If you OR your partner get Income Support, you AND your partner get the free benefits". Am I reading this right, that as I am claiming IS both of us get the benefits?
I'm guessing that this isn't the case really, but just wanted to ask and see if anyone knows for sure. Thanks in advance

:)Yes he gets free glasses on the basis of being a partner on your Income Support Claim, you may need to show the award letter that shows his name0

If you live with your partner then he is entitled to free glasses. There's a section on the GOS3 form where it asks who's name the benefits are in.0

Wow that's brilliant, thank you so much. Does it cover everything then as well, like the prescriptions and dentist too? xxYou're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0

Yes, the exemption covers dentist and prescriptions as well. In some cases, you may also be entitled to assistance with fares to/from hospital, too.
Applies to all persons named on the claim form.

Is your husband named on your IS claim...?0

Yes he is, although I only get paid for me, if that makes sense? They take his benefits into account in our joint income so I presume that he is? All his details were in the claim. You're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0
