    Might compare £3.75 vs £1.98 at M
    £7.50 v £3.96 = £3.54 back on a £5.50 spend

Untested, guesstimated 98p per 1.75L when bought in 2s, perhaps until 6am-ish :o

Now you tell us:rotfl:, wish I'd have known earlier - however, it is a different shop so all good:T. As you say, not tried.

Not a very good shop for me earlier:(, although I have had far far worse before. My store does not have any McVities taxi at all - is this yet another of those "limited online availability" items that isn't available in my store? Clearly not, as it fails to appear on the comp., but yet again it's not available to me or others and Evangeline you have a store that has all the limited availability, all the triggers and other items you need! No Seabrook straight cut crisps in my store either! Or any decent RTCs, we really have little luck!:rotfl:

When I was instore, I needed to use the toilet, how inconvenient:mad:. So, five hours later:(, I reverted to my originally planned shop, of low spend, with just the Pepsis and fillers.

:(I forgot to check the dates on the Pepsi cans. I checked all the dates on the McVities Gold and Jacob's Clubs that I didn't buy. I also forget to check whether petrol prices were going down tomorrow before I left to go to the store:(. So, I filled up a little bit more and took the risk. I now see the latest news is petrol prices probably going to go up now - so maybe I ought to go back and fill right up?

Still got almost two packs of the Pepsi cans from last year (BB May 15) which we now paid over the odds for! We don't use them or get through much pop these days at all. When we do have Pepsi, the only one of us that does, we are at the pub with a meal there anyway and end up paying extra again for it. I shall have to bring out more Pepsi cans, more regularly, at home. We've still got most of the Sprite/Tango bottles from last year too (several BB Sep last year). And :o:oI pulled out some Vimto cans pack when I checked earlier - and found they were BB April 14!:( Not sure they're okay as nearly a year old. Would people drink those? I know BB is about quality, however they obviously contain a lot of water and water quality is important.

So, I just got the minimum number of packs to get us a little further. I now notice the first of them is BB June 15:(, so only one month more. We'll never get through 8 cans in one month!:(:rotfl: The second - at least a little better: Aug 15. Otherwise, it's just buying for the sake of buying. Unfortunately, I've not got the inclination to buy massive quantities of them and set up a market stall and flog them all on for a profit. Sadly, a lot of executive functioning deficit there:(.

We still don't get through the Robinson's either. I won't be going for these 1.75L now vs potential M, as still got the 1L Robinsons from ages ago that were free/nearly free/better than free, and BB this month on a couple of them. I've only started drinking them this month:rotfl:. We don't use Simple wipes, we don't much use or get through anything - we just need essentials occasionally (really expensive) and keep replenishing the freezer. We need pies and chicken fillets and fish fillets. Please can you get them to glitch? The bacon was good but, really, again not a very healthy food and only got two packs as BB end of this month, that's all we will ever get through and that probably one pack too many!

As for the fillers tonight, I suspect I've chosen some items that compare vs T to see if M are being picked up yet at the same price. I can only see my receipt - "NUTS" says one of the items. I must be:rotfl::rotfl:.

Anyway, I saved some money by not getting the McVities Taxi/Gold and the Club Bars - do we really need any of those after the biscuits anyway? I doubt it - probably about £1.45 saved by not getting them. I'm sure we would get through them but, anyway, got plenty of biscuits and they are being rationed throughout the months as we don't need them. My shopping spend nowadays is very low as I'm very unprone to succumbing to temptation!:D Virtually buy nothing at all these days as everything ordinarily now seems just so dear:rotfl:. Typical that I've found the essential items like potatoes and fruit and veg. becoming much more expensive for me at the very time when the stores have been saying there have been price cuts on essential items.

We're probably very healthy. Not getting through this soft drink and fruit juice:rotfl:.

Water. That's the only drink I need. Water, the healthiest choice of all! None of these flavoured stuff or carbonated drinks probably full of sugar even when none is added. Oh, btw, the 'normal' Frijj milkshakes are now on 50p in M supposed to be through into March, if that becomes useful.

I'm totally against this film, not because I'm a prude but think its going to have a lot of negatives implications on peoples lives :(

But I did think this was very funny, those poor cinema cleaners with their chammys.

Scanned £3 in my store only got 4 packs so could have got 6 without going over £10. But SA on SS was so chatty when I used my crème egg APG I didn't like to go back in for another cash round.

Happy if they work out 50 odd pence a pack. Thanks SFSB.

And Pepsi Max Cherry - the nicest one :D

Now I think about it, I probably should have got that (instead of one of my other two) as you are absolutely right there!:D:naughty:

I really love the Vimto taste though - although somehow just not got round to ever drinking it these days! Not sure about my April 14 cans - what 9 and a half months? I've checked (elsewhere online just now) and apparently Coke and others last about 6-9 months shelf life. :think:This is on the edge of that. This is precisely the sort of area that I need specific, exact guidance to as to exactly when something will be edible and not. I don't care a jot about quality. I'm just concerned if it will be safe. I know those batter mixes, that I wouldn't have thought would last more than a few months, are sold more than a year out of day, completely safely, by Approved Foods. So, clearly, they last a lot longer than I would have imagined. As regards soft drinks, long as the water does not somehow develop bacteria in it, I wouldn't be concerned. I've no idea whether the extra ingredients of soft drink counteract that. I certainly wouldn't drink unclean water.

BB dates are pretty useless. Unless they are eggs, in which case they are to be read as use-by, which is quite clear, it's the matter of just how far beyond BB can food/drink be safely consumed that I am unclear about. Is it still safe even beyond 9 months? It says "approximately", which, again, is no guide:(.

    http://www.eatbydate.com/drinks/how-long-does-coke-last-shelf-life-expiration-date/

"[Y]our senses are usually the most reliable instruments..." Emphasis - "usually". No good, it doesn't tell me whether or are not on this specific occasion, even if "usually" (whatever that means) they may be. And that's prefaced by "Although not a perfect test,...". It's no good if it's not perfect because how can tell if it is definitely going to be safe or not if the test used isn't perfect?!?

I know - I'm 'fretting' (almost!) over nothing. If in doubt, why not just throw it away? No harm done then, except waste and 'shouldn't have bought it'. But it's no good as it doesn't tell me whether I need to throw it away or not. If it says "6-9" months and "approximately", then 9 and a half months might be fine? Or it might not, as it's just "approximate". No clear, specific, precise guide - once again:(.

"If in doubt, throw it out." The problem is that I am always in doubt, because, even when it is supposedly clear, it never really and completely, absolutely is. So, if I followed the "If in doubt..." instruction literally, I've never ever keep anything - it would all go. Some 'common sense' must surely come into things therefore? A problem over which I have working out exactly what "common" "sense" may or may not be. The problem is different people have different opinions as to what is, or makes, "sense" and therefore what is "common" is extremely hard to work out, and what is claimed to be "common sense" very often is not.

Common sense would tell me to chuck things that are quite a lot old. (Whatever "quite a lot" might mean and I don't need to concern myself with that as it's just common sense and not a matter to get into and find you can't work it out if you go down that route.) Common sense, however, would have told me to chuck batter mix after 6 months past its date. Yet Approved Foods sells it a year old - so, clearly, my "common sense" was wrong. It's safe a lot longer than I thought. Maybe the same might be true of soft drink? However, I do not know. I never "know" anything at all under my approach. That's how it ends up:rotfl:. How can you "know"? And, even then, there are things you (supposedly) 'know' that you don't know and etc. What is "knowledge"? And what about degrees of knowledge?

    Zzzzzzz..... etc....:rotfl::rotfl:.
