Bacon worked for me on a shop at 4 o clock.
    Bought

    Smart price tin of custard,
S P tin of marrow fat peas,
    Batter mix,
    Carrot,
    Parsnip,
    Flump,
    Swizzle bar,
    Banana
    Tangfastics
    3 packs of bacon.

Cost £5.77 and a voucher back for £2.48. Thanks all. :)

Bet that cost you:eek: - 19p vs 22p! Actually it would probably have rounded down and been neutral (2.2p off 22p). And far outweighed by the bacon:T:T.

Now - no-one reporting any bacon failures this afternoon please! You know this is unlikely to last much into the daytime. Early enough breakfast shop, maybe. 10am shop (check 1pm) - probably not.

Of course I could be completely wrong - but I wouldn't risk it!!:)

In fact there is some logic to it. It's logically consistent with the illogical position (subscribed to by people generally) that it is "the most offensive" language.

    :rotfl::)

EDIT: BBC ONE now, with a teaser if anyone is staying up to watch - violent content, scenes of a strong sexual nature and very strong language - I like it when they describe it as "very":D:D - what could that be?!?:rotfl:, anyway, wish I could stay up with that, but sadly cannot:rotfl: - I like it when it's all four warnings (no drug use in this one it seems:() - anyone remember the red triangle? - anyway, see you later!:):A

(No condoning of drug use - just pointing out to the 'content advice' of certain things.)

Can you tell angelsmadv that it's about time he paid us a visit:D

Oh I'm still about, TM. Unfortunately MSE is blocked at work (good job really) so I've lost touch with many. I do check my PMs every now and then and occasionally, late at night, have a quick scan through the thread.

It was good to meet some other people. I've only ever met one other before. They were amateurs in the cafe though as I ordered Americano at £1.10 but pressed the latte on the machine (£1.60). Oh, and paid with ASDA GC :D. :rotfl:

    Hope all are well. :A

To be fair it's on in the background. The content is very strong and I'd advise that some viewers may find it very distressing. The hostage situation is especially trying on the heart strings.

  • Pack a jumper or cardigan, it can get a bit chilly at night
Some parts of our complex was quite breezy, day and night
If anyone in your party has any breathing problems, make sure you take their medication, the sand/dust got on our chest a bit
There is only one pharmacy on the Island and it is very expensive

I would not worry about TripAdvisor reviews, our hotel had horrible reviews but once we were there it was fine

If you go into Santa Marie, the locals are very nice but they are always trying to sell you something, you have to haggle with them, a firm no, does the trick
    So Jealous

Thanks for this, bit nervous as my parents don't usually do this type of trip and having never been knew little about the weather apart from breezy. I presume it is the type of breeze where you soon burn without realising it.
All medication packed plus the kitchen sink so be alright there.

sure I will find a reading spot out of the wind. Card is packed plus travelling in winter clothing, even packed my light onesie incase of cold nights but temperature doesn't appear to drop much.

looking forward to it now, a happy traveller returning home always puts mind at rest.

    Thank you

  • Sounds like we need a singles travelling club on here!

I would love to do more travelling, especially cruising, but as a single adult costs make it prohibitive. Don't have any single friends who want to come with me, and can't take kids out of school to drag one of them along! :rotfl:

I know on cruises you can opt for a cabin share and you get to correspond with room mate before hand plus if spare cabins they will then split you up. Not my idea of fun but when I was on ship it worked well especially on round the world cruises I use to host singles dinners where you moved table for each course. Such fun..

I don't mind getting a single s holiday club going. Be a very mse thing to do really.

    Afternoon all :)

Unfortunately sister not listening to any advice we're offering. They are prepping to move to Hemel Hempstead where he lives and works. The plan was for her to get another job in optics but in the Hemel/St Albans area before moving to their own place. They have some money saved already and planned to live with his parents for about 6 months whilst my sis settled into a new job/they house hunted.

Apparently they can't stand living under this (free) roof for 6 months because of his sister. Don't get me wrong, she sounds like a nightmare (not abusive or anything like that) but I cannot explain that trying to make the best of this admittedly irritating situation for a short period of time is better than spending at least 12 grand renting for 6 months. That's 12 thousand pounds that could be on hand for solicitors fees/surveys etc etc. She is determined not to listen to two people who have saved for their own place and have experience. And no matter how much I tell her that 6 months is the blink of an eye and 12 grand is a lot of money......they could even be renting for longer if house hunting falls through or proves difficult.

But I'm done! I don't get it. I'd listen to my parents if I was about to get a mortgage. All I would do is listen to them! They've done it and I haven't! :)

Could they look for a house share. Costs are considerably reduced and if lucky the landlord doesn't always have tenants in other room. Could save the £600 I know still spending but with all bills covered and no personal link to other tenants it is a good stepping stone if living with parents not an option. Not all shared houses are uni ones some are professionals only.
    Worth an ask.
