For one day it's probably too much hassle to get an Oyster card, but if you can find someone who can lend you one, they cut down costs significantly. I forgot mine once and it was cheaper, marginally, to get another one and then go to Watford than it was to buy a single to Watford. If you go to London regularly (does not need to be often), it saves a lot of time and money.

I know. I was hopping mad, especially as I had given my clubcard when I was taking out the contract in store. I did get the points back but no compensation for my trouble.

Nope. Deadly serious :eek: In a rush and they've just been delivered. Grabbed them and thought, oh, cocktail sausages. Shoved some on a plate with cucumber and carrots and sat the kids down to eat them. Only when I was unpacking bags etc that I realised they were meant to be cooked first. Thought they were like those fridge raider jobbies. Oops. They can be put in microwave for 45 seconds according to packet so they must be already cooked???! Aargh.

If you have a contactless credit/debit card, it works exactly the same as the oyster card and caps the same way as well, so no need for an oyster card any more.
