It does bother me that some of the more nieve members will follow some of the answers without being aware of the risks involved.
Spooky that, quite separately, we should post the same word. I'm not naive on that score though:D.
I have however made a mistake again. I rang an 0845 number the other day - I thought 0845 was free under my package. That'll teach me to take a short-cut. On every occasion before this, I have always gone to the service provider's website, searched through loads of pages to find their complete list of prefixes and then checked through tens of pages to what the charge for the one I'm going to ring might be. I never remember from one occasion to the next, so have to check beforehand every time:(. On one occasion, I couldn't find the answer as the cost of the number depends on the service provider of the organisation you are calling... how am I to know that in advance? I even went onto Ofcom's website and checked for the prefix there. However, that merely said that the numbers will "normally" be free, but did not state that they would always be - great lot of use that was! If I have difficulty establishing the charge rate, or even if there is one, of a proposed call in advance of me deciding whether or not to make it, how is the average consumer supposed to deal with this?
I normally spend ages before I ring any company's contact centre going onto my service provider's website, searching through several screens, trying to find the charge rates, finding them, going back, going to NoTo0870, finding another number, dialling that...
Fortunately, the company I rang were closed when I rang their 0845 (at 6.6p per minute:eek: plus a connection fee:eek::eek:) so I simply hung up and wasn't on the phone that long. I normally find and ring a geographical number - even if the non-geographical one is free. However, in future, I shall never again ring any number unless it is a geographic number (which is included in my inclusive calls) or it is a freephone 0800 number - and, even then, only after checking that that specific prefix is free. I don't trust any of it - and, of course, from mobiles sometimes freephone isn't free. I'm ringing from landline. And to me, 0800 and 0800 1 are different prefixes and, for me, needs to be clarified precisely whether 0800 covers 0800 1 or does not. 0800 0 might be free, but 0800 1 might not. That is the daft and utterly confusing system I feel we have - and of course there's a reason (as far as I see) - in order to trip us up and unknowingly have us paying. Never again. In future, I shall check every non-geographic number I might be about to ring and not even trust that 0845 is included or is free.
Anyway, I rang their freephone number tonight (via SayNo) and the department I needed closed at 6pm. So I shall have to ring again tomorrow:(.0 -

Can you confirm which crunch creams you bought (ginger or butter). I bought ginger crunch creams and either they, the butter crinkles or the jam and creams worked
If you bought ginger crunch creams then I would hypothesize that they plus the Neapolitans worked?
Is there a maximum number of any one type could can buy at a time?0 -

I'd still rather people asked and get given the answer, even if it includes how to use the search function as often helps others as well. You can tell by the number of thanks these posts get compared to some others. People miss things with busy lives so repeating info about a glitch is helpful.
I don't post photos of anything on here unless it's to do with a glitch or being MSE.
Regular occurrence........Question asked when the answer is already on the same page, sometimes just 2-3 posts away
Regular occurrence........Question asked, author waits 30+ mins for response.........could have found answer themselves in seconds using search facility here....or just by googling (even quicker)
Q....Why does the thread move so fast making things harder to find ?
A.... See the two points above0 -
I didn't either....only me in this house eats biscuits and I'm on a diet so best not to tempt myself :rotfl:
I didn't eitherLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

The Alan Barnes fund is continuing to grow, the website is now showing £309k, which I assume is net of fees. It's lovely to see, I just hope it doesn't overwhelm him.
Sending you a hug Snap, this time will pass. xx
I know that Alan has said he wants to buy a house and that he doesn't want to live alone... just hoping he gets some good financial advice 'cos he may be in danger of loosing benefits and ending up the proverbial creek in a few years time.
There's a nice residential/flats for over 50s complex less than a mile from where he lives.. that might suit... he would have people around him and support if or when he needed it.
Sorry I'm twittering on, but I hope that this does all turn out well for him in the long run.

Could you let us curious folk know if you get 2x £50 or a single £100 eVoucher
I'm assuming you had a zero feb balance before claiming.
Or that it'll be the only claim this month - capped at £100. Perhaps smart shopper would have done that yesterday, if they had not claimed in January, and would then have this month free to go. Fortunately, it's only a 28 day month, so that the next claim after this can be made within 28 days in March.0 -
Is February/March the "free" council tax months? I thought they were, but see my council tax payment has gone out today.0

Why yesterday savvy? I did a shop I collected yesterday, and claimed the voucher as it was 1st of month? Should I not have done?0
