Just analyzing the results of buying 21 packets of biscuits today:

    Spent 21 x 99p = £20.79

    More Points received = 21 x 500 = 10,500 (£10.50)
    Match Points received = would be 21 x 490 (10,290) but capped at 10,000 (£10) [lose 290 points (29p) because of cap]

    Total Points received = 20,500 (£20.50)

So that 21st packet only costs you 29p, and means you don't need to top-up your points to reach the magic £20 voucher for this shop, your next shop and the one after that.

In other words, if we'd been clever, we would have done it like this....

    1) Biscuit Shop 1: buy 21 packets
    2) buy carrot or something small to claim £20 vouchers
    3) Biscuit Shop 2: buy 20 packets
    4) buy carrot or something small to claim £20 vouchers
    5) Biscuit Shop 3: buy 20 packets
    6) buy carrot or something small to claim £20 vouchers

However, we still don't know the effect of buying more than 20 of the same type of biscuit over multiple shops so consider using a friend's card on 3rd shop (or possibly 2nd shop depending on your quantities)

I could have done it had my More points worked on my shop. £19.80. With my otherwise (and now) useless 30p on my old Miles Card (I didn't know what, if anything, was on there, shows how little I buy petrol from M) would have equalled £20.10. 10p, no worries. And then still 4p carrot to access the £20... 14p:eek:, still bearable though!

Sadly I'm £3 short - may as well be a whole fiver - and may get to still £1.10 short (and whole £5 tied up) even if my card arrives in time for that womble. (There's an idea as to how I need to get the rest though:idea:.)

    But...more importantly... 6 posts in a row!:eek::eek: Good morning!:hello::)

The wine works out a better deal doing it in a separate shop matching against Ts as its only £4.78 in there and you can buy 2 and something for 50p to get to the £15 spend.
no idea why the points didn't go on? But CS will add them on for you HTH

Do you think they might add my 3000 points on if I ask them?:rotfl:

    Alright, enough, I'm going...

    Bye now!

    EDIT:

 Hang on, I'm coming back! I've now looked into it - and I don't think it does work out a better deal comparing vs T? Given that you have to buy a 50p item, count that as a reduction off the price match. In T they are £4.78. In A they are £5.50 or 2 for £10. Therefore, buying two vs A would only 'lose' 22p x2 = 44p compared to buying 2 against T, where you lose your 50p on the extra item you have to buy. Unless they're not picking up the A mbuy price? Stick a packet of biccies on your 'A' shop and you have £15 or more - who said you had to buy 16-20/21 biccies per shop? (Does 2 Shiraz + 1 Fox's biscuits exceed any caps I still haven't got my head around? Biscuits are free aren't they, so get those instead of a charged 50p item and lose your 44p - still save 6p? Unless you buy a 50p item that's 6p or more cheaper in T:D:rotfl:. There it is - with Savvy, you're down to trivial 6ps:rotfl::p:rotfl::rotfl:. Big deal(!) My 'excuse' is I thought I was on to something more substantive at the outset...:o:o:rotfl:)
There it is, from me... always wanting to get everything onto the best comp. and never lose a single penny at all, and then I come up with something devious like this, suddenly tactically (or perhaps tactlessly:o:doh:) switching comps.!:rotfl:
    That's my reading of it - unless I'm wrong. I'm going! :wave::wave:

    Morning all :)
This m&m stuff is confusing, why can't they just keep the total amount of points showing on the app the same as it was yesterday :(
    Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
    Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000

Cos they want to sow as much confusion as possible?

(...So that people get confused and make mistakes and end up giving them more money...?!?) I don't know - just posing as (rhetorical maybe) questions.

The 'official' answer, I'm sure, would be along the lines of it's just the way the systems update and that the points total is changed to reflect on a daily basis. It's like Nectars get updated and may be on your (Sains.) receipt but not yet in your account or you may have spent some points and they still be showing on your account when they are not because you've just spent them. I suppose.

    Okay, I am really gone!

Thanks and see you for now dipdap (and anyone else posting/reading).

    Bye savvy :)
I suppose that's a good thing for us.
It's taken me ages to get my head around how this whole thing works, how normal shoppers could begin to understand it is beyond me.

Yes I posted you won this morning :D

Well done I still have to win :)

I am normally down near the bottom :( :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you :) I didn't see your post at first, sorry. It didn't come up in my search because you omitted the word "quiz" :naughty:;) :rotfl:

I'm normally in the middle, I think it was sheer luck I happened to get all those questions right and the fast fingered people didn't :D

OH has just pointed out to me that I'm doing the very thing I moan about my boss doing, narrating what I'm doing. It's a horrible realisation that I might be as irritating to others as she is  I never realised I did that :o

    Morning all :D

I've been very absent as I've started a new job which has given me less time for internet during the day (a Very Good Thing as the previous role was dull!) so I just can't keep up.

Is there a post number to catch up with the biscuit goss? I'd like to go to M tomorrow night after work and a glitch would be lovely if I could work it in with my normal shopping - and find somewhere in the house to hide the biscuits from Mr Mooo ;)

Has anyone claimed back money from Purina? They had a sticker on some packs saying you could claim money back if your cat didn't seem brighter or something so I bought two packs as the cat eats it anyway. As soon as the three weeks are up I'm sending off the receipt :D The cat does normally eat Purina, but he's not taking to the salmon flavour biscuits at all, so that really would be nice to get a refund on!

Hope everyone is well, hugs to anyone struggling.
