fairclaire wrote: »Thanks Rhos. I believe this lad will be being moved to a different set of classes after half term. DS2 has been having a slight reduction in TA hours, with my agreement. It was to try and encourage him to have a bit more independence. It was the times he was on his own that this lad was saying stuff to him
So he's back to having a TA with him full time until then.
I do feel a little bad as moving him might just mean that it becomes some other child's problembut I can't think of that. It's for the school to deal with his behaviour. I know this lad has his own problems because DS2 says he uses the special needs dept. I asked DS2 what condition he had and he said 'I don't know but it's not autism. He's far too nasty to be autistic'
:rotfl:
There's stereotypes - that some people (my perception is) wrongly believe autistic people are violent or bad. There are autistic people who are nasty and autistic people who are gentle and kind, just as there are non-autistics who are nasty and non-autistics who are gentle and kind.
The autistic person who is 'nasty', in my opinion is unlikely to be so from any scheming or devious behaviour but probably more from sensory difficulties that affect them so much and their 'bad behaviour' is a reaction to that. I couldn't double-cross you, or 'double-deal', if I tried! That sort of behaviour (double-crossing/double dealing) tends to be IMO a character trait that is typical (or at least far more typical) of non-autistic people.
I think there are autistic people whose obsessions and way of thinking develop into a deviant thought, for instance suggestions that Adam Lanza had Asperger's (although be careful about how these people are diagnosed or not as some are just rumours and not actual fact) and also that guy who posted a youtube video last year - I forget which person that was now. Apparently revenge at "all women being bad" because he had had no success getting any girlfriend. It's perhaps because the condition can give rise to that, due to inability of the sufferer to recognise body language signals that are saying "come on, I like you!" and thus missing out. I know that I've had that and thus never had a girlfriend - things could have been different if I had not but, perhaps from knowing this, I'm also happy with the way I am and happy not having had relationships, so it also depends on way in which the individual reacts and what their thoughts are. Just the same as non-autistic people - there are some with thoughts of mass murder (a deviant minority) but the vast majority of non-autistic people do not have that reaction to how 'events' have treated them.
Anyone can be caught up in mental illness (a different issue) and other issues and not necessarily be deviant. Many more are more the victims of society than the killers, although having a mental illness or a condition that isn't mental illness is not an excuse for being a killer. Those who are the victims deserve our support and full help.
Autistic people do tend to be the victims more than the person committing a crime.0 -

Bassets Liquorice Allsorts 130g bags only 29p at Home Bargains.
And there we are:T. That sort of thing - branded sweets bags, just like branded cartons, are they ever worth it/still too dear?
Bit on the dear side compared to 230g for 49p:rotfl:. But that is quite a good price - just shows how expensive those bags are at usual offer prices of £1 (let alone more expensive:eek:) elsewhere and suspect even then they might be downsized 110g rather than 130g.
Liquorice Allsorts (of course I pay no attention to them being Bassetts:rotfl:) at 29p for 130g are "worthy of consideration" in my view.
(And I mean "consideration" of the thought kind, and not money for a contract...:rotfl:!)0 -

Doubt it would work.. because most of the time once MSM updates it takes a couple of hours to kick in. (or the next day if it updates on MSM after 5pm)
Most of the ones over the last few weeks if it comes on MSM about 5pm then it means its good till about 6am. But this one was different to ones I have done before. So my guess is that shops after 5 pm tonight will be corrected.
Anyone that's done a shop today, put it into the APG machine ASAP.0 -
