    I'd stay well clear.

    All council staff expect and get kick-backs from the selected contractors, so any job is at least 5* more expensive that it needs be. Plus most council employees are raving socialists who believe all property is theft and love fleecing owner-occupiers (spit!). Complain, and they'll move in a family of 'seekers' with 5 children into the flat above...

    We had a problem in a flat I own a few years back the council was only splitting the charges between the leaseholders and ignored their own flats.

    Big bills are common I have just had to pay £700 for a new front door because it is no longer fire compliant it has been fine for the last 50 years! The also want to replace my windows they are 15 years old! But no longer energy efficient.
