Taylor Wimpey Queens Hills Norwich Help!

  • Having actually lived at Queen’s Hills for the previous 8 years, I would like to add the following response as I believe many of the issues are no longer valid concerns.
    1) Yes, there is only one road in and out, however the roundabout at Next has been upgraded to include a slip road in towards Norwich which has significantly eased delays. I have never had to queue more than 5 or 6 cars at this roundabout and I cannot recall the last time I had to queue on any of the roads or roundabouts leading up to it.
    2) There IS a second road being worked on which goes out by the community centre. This will provide a bus route and a walk or cycle down to old Costessey.
    3) There have not been travellers on any land in the vicinity of Queen’s Hills for over two years since the reinforcement of bollards and other deterrents. The Country park is fully accessible by foot and provides some lovely walking and access to woodland.
    4) One post mentions ‘a fair amount of anti-social behaviour’ – I have neither witnessed or heard of any in the whole time I have been here and I would suggest that the houses are further spaced out than a row of terraces in Norwich city centre.
    5) In response to the post above one of the articles is dated January 2017 (not an update!) and work is in progress right now to finish the roads off, so they can be adopted. In response to the other link, our house is built by Taylor Wimpey and we have not had any problems with it since moving in.
In essence the ‘problems’ with Queen’s Hills only appear to be problems to people who don’t actually live here and not to the many who in fact enjoy and like living here. But the notion stands that bad news sells papers and headlines about free-flowing traffic and builders constructing perfectly decent houses does not!
