congestion charge tfl

I am disgraced at TFL appeal process. I went through congestion charge in the tube strike and as I was new to London from up North I did not know that you have to pay by Midnight.
None of the signs inform you of this information so I thought I will get a bill and I will pay it.
I received a bill for £65 and I tried to contest. It then went up to £130 then £195 as I went through the appeal process.
In August 2014 I appealed again and they told me NO you must pay so I appealed again as to not give up as I wanted them to give more information to drivers.
I heard nothing from them and now 5 months later a bailiff knocks at my previous address demanding £512.00
How can they get away with this. NO newspapers will listen to my story or help me disgrace them!! we are all slaves to the system!! The bailiff told me he will find me and take my possessions.
I was prepared to pay my congestion charge but penalised for not paying it on time when there is no information to tell me to do so!!
I have written to TFL Traffic appeals committee and the EQUITA BAILIFF company to try to ask them to see that this system is not right in the first place and they say that once it has been handed over to the bailiffs that it is out of there hands!
PLEASE HELP ANYONE

Contact BailiffAdviceOnline - Sheila runs it and posts here as Herbie sometimes. I hope you have NOT paid the bailiff as yet. Sheila can help - we think it costs a tenner to register on BAO website and they are the experts on getting bailiff costs down if unfair (and this seems unfair).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is another one of brittish scams, suck as much as you can from the unsuspecting motorists.PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0

I had a run in with TFL a few years ago over a blue badge exemption, they were in the wrong and finally backed down "as a good will gesture" so I know what a bunch they are.
However, (admittedly of no use now) you do have up to midnight on the following day to pay the charge, though they impose a supplement for doing so.
