Rent on credit file?

Are rent payments being added to credit file yet? Reason I ask is that in all the years I've been renting, Ive never missed a rent payment.
It would be nice to have this history included on my credit file.

If it can be added, can It be added showing the past payments?

In some instances they are now showing.

It depends on whether your own landlord has chosen to become a customer of the credit reference agency (obviously at a cost) and signed up to share rental data.

If they do choose to sign up then they have to get the tenants formal written permission, which would usually be at the start of a new tenancy and written in to the tenancy agreement.

There would be no provision to backdate entries from before the date permission is obtained from the tenant.

In reality it is only a small number of tenancies that are likely to have their rent payments reported.
