Turned down for mobile phone contract

Options
Please can someone help.
Was turned down for a mobile phone contract in May 2014.
Joined Experian free for a month to find out my credit rating which was 975 Excellent. Went round in circles trying to find out the reason for rejection. Nobody can tell me.
Tried again 21 Jan 2015 & rejected again. The contract was only for £8.50 a month!
I have heard of people with no jobs & in debt being given mobile phone contacts!
Can anybody suggest what I should do?
Many thanks.

are you linked to someone else ?(share loans etc with someelse)

are you on the electoral register?

    any CCJs etc

your score means nothing, my score is 950 and I have bankruptcy on my file.

loads of things affect whether you get credit, your wage, the amount of credit you already have etc etc

so you really need to give LOADS more details before you will have an idea why you were turned down.
  • On the electoral register
    No debt
    No cjj's
    Never defaulted on anything.
    Regular income from pensions
No loans with or without my husband.
Can't think of any reason why rejected.

they could have a condition you have to be working, they keep the conditions a secret, that's why your score means nothing, at the end of the day, it's all guess work.

Have you checked your file for a link? a bank account or mortgage would do it but if his report is the same as yours i.e good, then my best guess is they have either turned you down because of income/pensions going from the info here.

Recheck your file, remove any past address you have lived at that are still showing that are not linked to a present debt (request the address is removed if it's no longer relevant)

It could be as simple as your address does not match your file, they both have to match or they won't be able to find you, so get turned down.

You can ask the phone company to look at your application again, a human should do it, you might get a different result...remember tho a search on your file can affect your likelyhood of getting credit,as they see a lot of searches so think you are a risk,so turn you down any way.
  • The only reasons I can think of are

They are not getting the correct response when they do a credit search so they don't get the information showing your credit worthiness. Does your application have the exact same address as your credit file states you have? Seems unlikely to have happened twice 8 months apart though but possible if it was the same mobile supplier both times?

The supplier uses a credit reference agency other than Experian and there is something incorrectly recorded on your file with these companies that you are not aware of. Could you ask the supplier which reference agency they use and get pay £2 to see what they have on file?

The supplier doesn't see pension as income so rejects you.

All the above are unlikely (especially the last one!) but I cant think of anything else!!!

Based on your posts you should be the ideal customer for any phone company!

    Good Luck!

I got an idea, buy the phone outright and buy either a 30 day sim or a 12 month sim only deal.
