Left up creak with C2C by PTAS

Hi all,

I initially received a FCN from C2C back in November 2014 and due to other commitments I paid (the now defunct) PTAS to handle this on my behalf as the RK of the vehicle in question.

PTAS filed an appeal on my behalf in mid-December 2014 on the grounds that this was a contractual charge and as a result attracted VAT. Thereby requesting the C2C provide a VAT invoice in order to further proceed with the charge.

I heard nothing from C2C since that appeal except for an automatic email response confirming receipt of the appeal.

Now PTAS are defunct, I've received a second letter from C2C this time a "FCN - Notice to Driver" (rather than the previous FCN) demanding payment.

The 21 days for appeal has now lapsed from the date of the first FCN.

As the RK of the vehicle and not the driver in question, can I still appeal this FCN (and do I just follow the procedures set out in the newbie thread) or am I stuffed?

Thanks

    Hi Southcoast

My advice would be not to make any contact at all to C2C regarding this FCN and it seems they are seeking confirmation who the driver is.

They are now no longer members of the IPC from 7th January

This information has been verified and features on the website

However, please do apply for a refund via PayPal in this instance for PTAS

Do also keep all paperwork you have and in the event of any future problems please do come back to the forums for other assistance.
  • Thank you for the reply 4consumerrights.

The only issue I have about ignoring it is that they already have the RK details from the DVLA prior to them losing IPC status, and the 6 years they have to pursue the "debt" (and I use debt in the loosest possible terms!)

Is there anyway of appealing this to strike the ticket out? Thanks
