Today I was paid late and as a result, my bank balance went into negative figures...

Presumably you don't have an authorised overdraft?
How soon can you rectify the account? is it significantly overdrawn or just a few pounds?
It could be reported to the credit reference agencies.
But some banks won't report if it is only over for a day or so, and some banks have a buffer zone even if you don't have an agreed overdraft.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I don't have an authorised overdraft, no - not very keen on them at all. It was my car insurance for £108. I got paid around half way through the day and the balance went positive again.0
