Which front door?

Options
Front outside door is currently upvc (fitted around 15 years ago). Opens into a small porch which is always really cold. The inner internal wooden door to front room seems to keep the warmth in front room but soon as it's opened can really feel the cold rush in.

So question is what would be the besy option for the front door:
Maybe get a door doctor to look at current door?
Replace with a new uPVC door about £400 to £500.
Replace with a foam core composite door about £750 to £850
Replace with solid core composite door about £1200 to £1300

Any suggestions or advice?

Without heating the porch will be cold regardless of what type of door is fitted.

Upvc front doors are considered old fashioned so a replacement be a questionnable decision. In a few years time this will be considered dated so not good for "kerb appeal".

Composite doors are the current fashion. Others will disagree but I consider them over hyped. Give it a few years and something claimed to be far better will come along. This may sound cynical but a few years back pvcu front doors were considered the ultimate product that would last for ever. Now nobody desires such a door.

Logic says go for the best composite front door, but I am concerned by the quality and durability of a solid core.

I suspect that for many a lower price composite will meet their requirements, particularly if the door is sheltered, not exposed to the sun, and has a proper porch detail. There is dubious, and poor Chinese stuff, on the market so buy with care.

Just had a quote for £800 for a composite grp door fully fitted. This is usually a bit more but it's the in laws of a friend's family business. The business actually manufacturer the doors to secure by design standard.
Would definitely avoid eBay.. Lots of cheap Chinese imports. Door stop doors are good.
