Experian Report Questions

Options
Hi,

My report does not show my current address (although shows as linked)

Does not show recent credit cards so subsequently says no available credit/debt.

Does anyone know why and how this can be amended?

Thanks in advance.

Is this on existing online experian account?
Have you entered your new address on experian?

The recent credit cards may be because of the address issue, or could be if those lenders happen not to report to experian and report to equifax or callcredit instead.

  • Sounds like your report was last searched by experience using your previous address (hence why current only shows as 'linked')

If you have moved within last two months and only updated lenders will addressed within the last two months, then this is normal.

Make sure experian use your new address on your next search and make sure your lenders have your new address too

    Hi Deano3,

When your report is produced, all the information in the name of the applicant at the addresses supplied in the application is retrieved.

So it sounds like your current address has not been entered when the report has been produced.

If you are using the CreditExpert service then this could happen if you have moved address but not yet updated your profile to include it.

You can add your new address to your profile by following these steps:

    1. Visit https://www.creditexpert.co.uk
    2. Click on 'Member Login' - this can be found in the top right hand corner.
    3. Enter your login details as requested.
    4. Once you are in the 'Information Centre', click on 'Update my details'.
    5. Under 'Address Information', click 'Add'.

If you had a statutory report and the current address is missing, email your details to me and I will take a look at the application for you.

    Kind Regards
    Neil

    Hi there,

I hope I have posted this in the right place - I am new to MSE forum so apoligies to Deano if I have totally invaded their post .

I have a few questions regarding my Experian Credit Report. I would ask Experian myself but i'm too scared. Thank you so much in advance!

6 and a half years ago (2008) I got into bad debt and decided to walk away from it all and left the country. This included credit cards, a bank account overdraft and a mortgage.

Curiosity has got the best of me as I am now in a better position in life and I am considering buying a new house and I have now logged into my Experian Report all these years later to see how it looks.

    Surprisingly, my score is 840.

What I would like to know is:
    1. The address in the my details section is for my old address where I had the debts - although my new address where I live now is in the "linked addresses" section - If I update my details correctly, is there a chance that those old debts will track me down? I have already had some letters to my new address and have ignored them.
    2. Some of the defaulted accounts are due to come off my file (which I believe is 6 years after the default date), when that happens, if I receive an old debt letter from an account that is no longer on my Credit report, can I just ignore it?
    3. I got a Capital One Credit Card about 3 years ago (i pay it regularly), strangely it is not showing on my credit report - should I just ignore that?
    4. Can a person have two credit reports? I ask as I am tempted to try another credit report company but again, i am a bit scared if old debts catch up with me.

Thanks once again for reading this post, I appreciate it and am so grateful!:D

You have 3 reports - Equifax, Experian and Call Credit (Noddle). Different information may appear on all of them, depending on which ones your lenders report to.
