Damage to neighbours garage

Options
During the high winds last week my 12 trampoline blew out of my garden the trampoline it self did not cause any damage but the ladder used by my kids landed on my neighbours on-block garage roof and has left a hole. I have spoken to my neighbour he said that the roof was damaged by someone else before. I get the impression he wants me to pay for the damage.
Does any one know when I stand on the matter?

    Sorry, I don't understand

If your neighbour has said that it was damaged by someone else before why are you getting the impression that he wants you to pay.

If you stand on it , you might make it worse:D

If you think he is right & you think you are the cause , then mend it for him.

Failing that , has he got building insurance.

If your ladder damaged it then you are liable, get it repaired. Simples.

Maybe he is saying that someone damaged it before - different damage.

If the damage he is saying the ladder did was done previously then it's not been damaged by your ladder, but if your ladder made it worse then I'd only expect you to be liable for a share in the repair (small one).
