Unable to get to screws on double glazing handles

Hi there I hope you can assist me here.
The handles on the opening part of some of my double glazing windows are loose.
The windows have a small opening at the top. These are not the swivel kind.
I've seen videos where they just get a Stanley knife and easily pop off the cap covering the screws.
I've been at it a while, making a mess, with no success.
Am I being daft or something?
I'm scared to continue any further.
Please does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you

It could be an old Hoppe handle where the whole top cover swivels to give access to the screws.

If you zoom in on the main pic depress the two metal lugs an swivel the top cover plate and the fixing screws are revealed. Best of luck0 -
Don't think so, it's one of those where there's 1 screw either side of the handle. You red to remove the cap to reveal each screw.
One sides loose but the others ok.
Odd I know.
Thank you, let's see what else comes up on here.0
