Project Solar Experiences?

I had no problems with Project Solar UK installing my system.
The only gripe I have is the figures they show you for investment returns, they just don't add up.
Been in touch with sales rep "will shame" if I get no answers and also e-mailed their customer services, no reply as yet.
Anyone thinking of using Project Solar should make sure they understand how the so called Electricity Savings and VO are calculated, because I don't have a clue.0 -
As has been mentioned many times on these forums, Voltage Optimisers offer no discernable benefit to domestic users, and companies offering them tend to be in the not so honest camp, IMHO.
Electric savings are mostly down to the householder and understanding how best to make use of solar PV, but again those that massively over state the savings tend to be double glazing style sales people.
If the Rep doesn't respond, Project solar will just say he's left as they caught him over promising returns.
Most of the companies like these use commission only sales and sub contract the install, so when you phone the office, your just calling a call centre where the people on the end of the phone don't care, they only get paid on the number of appointments they get.
It's a shame, but it's financial services from the early 90's with double glazing sales persons!
Any company that focuses on the financial benefit rather than the technical offering, run, run away!4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.0 -
T.P Solar - 16 x Sharp panels with a SMA inverter - price including VAT and fitting is £4750.
16 x Canadian Solar panels with a SMA inverter - price including VAT and fitting is £5450
Pls do check the exact specification of the Sharp panel being offered by TP Solar. If they are the poly-crystalline ones, they are likely to be 240W, resulting in a installation size if 3.84kW. The panels themselves have a +5% variance, so you may likely end up getting slightly more than 4kW during sunny periods. However your MCS certificate will mention 3.84kW & this will be used for calculations. Not a very big amount, but when you are expecting a 4kW system and end up with a 3.84kW one, whatever the price, it does leave a slightly bitter taste in the mouth. Speaking from my personal experience with TP Solar. They are no Cowboys and are highly rated by many over here. However, you have been warned about this small technical aspect regarding their Sharp panel installs.
