Hi there,
Just got my free trial of Equifax & wonder if anyone could help. I'm on a DMP with Stepchange & wanted to see what the balances were showing as. I had 3 credit cards (& a store card) which i stopped paying in 2009 & started a DMP soon after.
The Halifax credit card is showing as "Settled" with a default date of 29/02/2012, updated & settled on 30/6/14.
The other 2 come up as Idem Capital Securities& say "Defaulted" with a date of 8/12/2010, date updated 29/12/2014.
Can anyone tell me why the Halifax one says settled? & will the ones with Idem drop off in 2 years?
Once this last Idem debt is 6 yrs old does that mean a credit check won't show I'm on a DMP any more?
Any help please?

I assume the halifax debt is not yet repaid?
Sometimes a lender will mark the debt as settled when they sell to a debt collector.
The debt collector may be reporting the account to one of the other debt collection agencies, or they may report to equifax and then halifax would remove their entry.
Credit accounts with defaults drop off your credit file 6years after the default date.
So a search after that date would only show credit accounts you had open at that point, or had open in the past 6years that didn't have defaults.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
