my old bill was..
gas bill

Consumption charge, primary 661 kWh x 8.121p = £ 53.00
Total gas charges £92.08

now my new charges are
per kwh 3p and no primary due that i have to pay a standing charge

If you use more than the primary units then it makes no difference, the difference between the cost of the primary and secondary units is the equivalent of the standing charge.
