Company Car: Roadchef/DRP PCN

Afternoon All,
First time poster! Yayyyyy....
A bit of a different post;
The company i worked for was sent through a PCN for my overstay at the RoadChef at ClacketLane Services, they passed this on to me as i am the company vehicle is in my posession. I emailed RoadChef to tell them that i was not driving the vehicle at the time 'cough cough' and said that i would not be responding to further correspondence.
Well serveral letters were sent to my address as the company gave the details to Grosvenor and in turn RoadChef.
Unfortunately i was made redundant in Nov and my time with the company officially ended on the 12th of January 2015. I have now recieved a letter from DRP for the cost of the ticket.
I have 2x ideas in my head;
1 - I emailed to say that i was not driving the vehicle and as there was no evidence to identify the driver i should keep ignoring.
2 - There is no part of my previous contract with my previous employer to say that i should pay for parking tickets and as i am not counted as any keeper of the vehicle i could respond and mention this.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated......

Nothing particularly different about this.
Read the Newbies Sticky and the recent (last couple of months) DRP threads - all you need to see this-off there.

I thought that it would be different as its a company car and the predominant posts are for personal vehicles. My though was that could plead ignorance and it would need to be dealt with by the company and not myself as they have use of the vehicle from the lease company. Alternatively contacting DRP and telling them that i have told RoadChef i was not driving the vehicle that evening and that the vehicle is a company car and as such there is no legal obligation for me to pay a ticket when i am not contracted to do so.
Is this not applicable?0
