'Reason for Issue' - Incorrect? How big is a 'bay'?

Got a CPN at work from CPP. Car was in an area designated for parking, ¾ on surface of parking area,¼ on grass otherside of a kerb.
I concede I was wrong being partly on grass, but the reasonfor issue was ‘not within bay markings’ – the parking area is earth/mud andthere are no bay markings. So question –can the whole designated area (holding approx. 80 cars) be considered ‘the bay’?
Have started to trawl through the NEWBIE stuff, as not sure what i should do - thought i'd ask at this point.

Keep-on reading theNewbies Thread. The ammunition you need to deal with this is all there. Don't dwell overly on specifics as what actually happened means next to nothing to these guys.0

The reasons for the issue are not important, it is the amount they are claiming due to the infringement which matter, e.g., how much did it cost them to re-instate the grass after you parked on it. eYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Thank you. Just walked out to the site of my law breaking, and the grass bears no marks. Should i take a photo of the ground?0

What would be the point, they could have put right any damage in the meantime. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

The point would be to prove that there are no bays, therefore there's no way to park outside them.0

Just to update - Noted the point where it suggested also writing to the owner of the parking area, I emailed security at work with the 'bay markings' question.
Nice man cancelled my ticket. V,happy, thanks all.0 -
Got it in writing?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
