Credit Applications & Address History

I'm just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the following:
Generally, when applying for anything (loan/cards/phone) the application process asks you for 3 years address history.
Now, if I have a default (settled) registered at a previous address which I haven't had to supply to the creditor, that is four+ years old (which I have). Does the creditor see this default?

If the credit reference agency checked has a record of the previous address, or a past link to it supplied by you or another creditor or form of update, then yes, they would very likely see this default.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Did you have accounts you opened in your previous address which you then updated the lender with your new address? Like your bank for example?
This will create the link, as noted by Fermi, on your credit file. All that glitters is not gold.0 -
Ah yes, I see what you mean.
In my case then yes, my bank would have been linked to this previous address when I opened it, only a few months before I moved. (That's unfortunate)
Thanks for the insight0
