land Registry Weymouth office backlog.

I staircased on a shared ownership property to 100% back in June last year.
As initially the property was leasehold and after staircasing an application was sent to the Land Registry by my solicitor to make it a freehold. The application was sent by my solicitor in November (no idea why my solicitor delayed it that much!)
I have chased my solicitor a numerous times since then, only to hear that it's being processed by land registry everytime.
I decided to call Land Registry today myself and they said it is being processed by Weymouth CT7 team and they are working through a backlog.
Now I am trying to change from residential to BTL mortgage and need this in order to proceed.
Is this normal for it to take this long?
And I cannot find a telephone number for Weymouth office no matter how much I searched online
Any input much appreciated

kayfaz - the more routine applications can be completed in a matter of days in most cases but the more complex ones, as in this case, will take longer currently. Your scenario is therefore not unusual.
If you use the contact form, which G_M has linked you to, to supply the specific details re title/address and applicant details and include an explanation as to why it is urgent we can take a look and if able to then expedite it's completion.
Your enquiry would be referred to the office dealing with the application and they would then respond as they would have the relevant details and be aware as to the timescales involved.
When you rang us did you explain the urgency or did you simply enquire as to progress?“Official Company Representative

Thanks both for the prompt responses

When I tried to call: 0300 006 0411 I was told that all enquiries etc needs to go via my solicitor, is that correct?0 -
kayfaz - whilst there is always a need for 'professional etiquette' as we are really dealing with the applicant (your solicitor) we should be able to provide some degree of detail around receipt, any issues and possible timescales.
From our perspective it is better that the applicant themselves contacts us as they may already be aware of these details or equally be aware of wider issues that might already be delaying things.
So I would be reluctant to say 'all' need to go through your solicitor but I don't know what the conversation was, who it was with or what details were shared.“Official Company Representative

Dear All
I have just completed a lease extension on my flat and now I am told there is a backlog to register the new lease at the land register.
I had an offer received on the flat but the buyer may not be happy or even pull out if that takes too long for the lease extension to be registered at the land registry. The buyer has already done the valuation and got the mortgage offer and the buyer's solicitors is already doing the conveyancing process, same on my side. Can anyone advise if I do need to get the new lease extension registered at the land registry and/or land registry can fast track the registration as the sale may fall through.
Any advice welcome and many thanks in anticipation for any advice given.0 -
My new lease completed in February and it still hasn't been registered with the land registry - my solicitor said it would be at least May or June! My house is also on the market and I did ask the solicitor what would happen if I sold before the lease was registered. She said she could speak to Land Registry and get them to fast track it if a house sale was involved. You should ask the solicitor who did your lease to see if they could do the same?0

dchristina -as kleapatra posts and as I posted previously it is worth asking your solicitor to contact us directly re the issues involved and the 'urgency' as appropriate. The office dealing with the application would then consider and advise as to what assistance they might be able to offer.
Whilst not impossible to proceed with a sale whilst such an application is being processed some buyers/lenders/solicitors can be reluctant to do so even if provided with copies of the paperwork involved and details re the changes. Something to also discuss with your own solicitor as well for their view.“Official Company Representative
