Hi,
I've recently tried to access my credit file via Experians 30 day free trial however I wasn't allowed access until i receive a PIN through the post which takes 5 working days unfortunately.
Keen to see my credit report I then tried to sign up for Equifax, filled out the information and then in the end was told there is a problem with verifying my information.
When applying for both I did notice something which didnt click at the time. After entering my details i was asked questions regarding which bank my current account was with (which i answered) BUT after that it then implied I had a mortgage and asked a couple questions about that (I cant remember exactly wheat the questions were) to which I answered 'none of these'. The Equifax application actually mentioned me 'appearing to have a mortgage taken out in 1995' and asked who it was with to which i obviously replied 'none of these.
I am 26 and never had a mortgage, I would of been 7 in 1995! How do I go around sorting this out? Is it a good idea to get in contact with my local bank and see if they can help me get this rectified?
Thanks for any help!
