Hi, Just read up on 6% saver, my Hsbc is joint A/c just been upgraded to Advance, was Premier years ago, but changed to just the basic A/c.Archi_Bald wrote: »Because HSBC pay no interest for money in your current account, and no cashback for DDs. Not saying it would be the same for everyone but I, for instance, would currently be £2,946.62 poorer if my current accounts were with HSBC.
I do like the 6% HSBC Regular Saver, though, very much so.
Cannot see if both wife and I can save £250 per month, £6k per year, from the same A/c.?? Maybe phoning them would be better than online, although, I bank online with them daily??0 -
Why? I've been with Hsbc for 60 years, no probs, have got N/wide et.al, no different. I've got 123 A/cs, but just for savings, I wouldn't swap from Hsbc for my main A/c for anything.and got a local branch, not N/wide. Over 35 years, I've had more probs with N/wide than any other bank/BS
HSBC Premier has decent customer service, as long as you leave £50,000 with them, gaining peanuts.
Their ordinary account CS has me struggling with Indian call centres, so I wouldn't go back to that.
I just feel that HSBC have little interest in their customers now. The days of the trusted bank manager with a good customer relationship are long gone.
The Nationwide Flex Plus package will give us travel insurance, phone and breakdown cover and current account interest.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Hi Pollypenny, I too was in Premier, but dropped out, the 3 year extra warrantee was the best, and we used the travel insurance a lot.I have just this minute phoned them about the 6% saver A/c, straight through, and she was excellent. I asked if she would set up two A/cs, one for me and one for wife. She said, it is quicker to Login seperately online and do them, as it takes ages over the phone.Scottish, not, India;pollypenny wrote: »HSBC Premier has decent customer service, as long as you leave £50,000 with them, gaining peanuts.

Just done both online in 5 minutes. For me , I cannot fault them, BUT, I also have a Flexi A/c with N/wide, so, got the best of both worlds. All the best, was just curious.happy new year:beer:0 -

HSBC travel insurance is only up to 70. OH is 71, with diabetes 2 and hypertension. HSBC charged £287 to cover him last year. Nationwide has quoted £90.
We depend on the travel insurance as DS lives in the USA, which is where we are now.
Obviously we will pay the £10 pm fee, but overall, it's a better deal.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

If not, that's an impressive amount of cashback. How high are your household bills!?
Since we have owned 123 accounts , we have had over £3500 back,
It tells you on top of the account when you log in.0 -

no mortgageProbably mortgage cash back
your £3.5K+ is most probably more interest than cashback, but it's fabulous to hear that others have also benefitted to the tune of several thousand.4accounts , over £3500 cash back since opening;)
I decided a long time ago that the Santander problems people loved to rant about, and sometimes still do, would not apply to me. I have never regretted that decision..but, even you must admit, it's only lately, santander have got to grips with it's customer service...I cannot knock them, but, there'splenty on here that can and do.0 -
